Vintage Woodland Deer Tea Cosy and Knitting Pattern

When you think of woodland animals, I think the deer is the prettiest of them all and it's a delight to see the deer in the countryside. It's woodland deer that inspired me to design this tea cosy, that and a lovely vintage figurine of a stylised deer that I found in a charity shop.

The vintage style deer was really popular post war to 1960 I guess. And it was in 1964 when Rudolph was born and maybe that ties in with the popularity. The vintage style deer has big ears and a pretty face with emphasised eyes. They nearly never have antlers and they have white spots on their backs.

The Woodland Deer tea cosy has a slender neck supporting her pretty head with large ears. The eyes are flanked with a paler colour to give that vintage look.

She has long slender legs and I have made the deer look as is she's stood in a snowy wilderness, but this could be changed to be a grass.

The deer has a small tail at the back and the obligatory white spots on her back.

It's a lovely wildlife tea cosy and she's such a pretty deer; she's perfect for people who love the countryside and its wildlife.
