Sheep are so amazing, they are out in the fields in all weathers and manage to stay warm, what would make a better tea cosy? I chose the Swaledale sheep as the sheep breed that I would model the tea cosy on. It's a hardy Yorkshire breed. What I love about the Swaledale sheep is their curly horns and their faces that look as if they are wearing balaclavas.

The tea cosy looks as if its standing in a lush grassy field with hints of daisies and buttercups peeping through the grass.

The main part of the sheep is knitted in bubble stitch which gives that lovely billowy effect. There is a demonstration video of how to knit bubble stitch on Youtube https://youtu.be/CqF2xnEx1hs

The eye patches of the sheep are worked in intarsia but only for a few rows just to achieve the patches for the eyes. The sheep has yellow cat safety eyes and they really look effective, especially against the black face.

I do love the Swaledale Sheep tea cosy, it's cute and I like that it has a bit of realism to it.
