Welcome to the April TeaCosyFolk knitting vlog with me Suzy Cowper. In this episode I share new tea cosy designs, magazine features, upcoming pattern releases and a few creative projects that are developing in the background. It is a lovely round up for anyone who enjoys following the TeaCosyFolk design process.
The vlog begins with a look at the To the Moon Astronaut Chocolate Orange Cosy, a cheerful space themed cosy featuring a tiny astronaut perched on a chocolate orange moon. You can view the full pattern on the To the Moon Astronaut Chocolate Orange Cosy page.
I also share the news that the World Cup Goal tea cosy will be appearing in Simply Knitting issue 277 which is expected around the twelfth of May 2026. If you would like to explore other TeaCosyFolk designs that have been featured in magazines you can browse the collection on the TeaCosyFolk magazine pattern page.
For knitters who enjoy staying up to date with new releases there is the option to join the TeaCosyFolk newsletter. You can sign up on the TeaCosyFolk newsletter page.
The Acorn Chocolate Orange Cosy also features in this month’s vlog. It is a sweet woodland themed design and you can find the pattern on the Acorn Chocolate Orange Cosy page.
For those who enjoy seasonal knitting the Witches Hat and Pumpkin Chocolate Orange Cosy will be available from the thirtieth of April. You can see the Halloween themed designs on the Witches Hat and Pumpkin Chocolate Orange Cosy page.
If you would like a TeaCosyFolk calendar you can find it on the TeaCosyFolk calendar page.
I also mention the free downloadable sewing pattern for a substitute chocolate orange which is useful for photography and display. You can download it from the TeaCosyFolk free patterns page.
The Axolotl tea cosy design sketch is another highlight this month. If you would like to read more about how that design developed you can visit the Axolotl Tea Cosy Design Sketch blog post.
For knitters who enjoy a sociable project the Knit and Natter tea cosy pattern is now available. You can find it on the Knit and Natter tea cosy page.
This month’s knitting tip focuses on creating neat i cords. In the vlog I demonstrate how to knit an i cord using straight needles and double pointed needles. If you would like more tutorials and helpful knitting guides you can visit the Cosy Companion Guidebook.
The double pointed needles used in the demonstration are four millimetre aluminium needles. The set I purchased is available on Amazon.
The Candy Wonderland tea cosy will be released on the twenty third of April. If you would like help with the bubble stitch used in the design you can watch the tutorial on the bubble stitch video.
I also talk about the new Pheasant tea cosy design that is now in development. You can follow the early ideas on the Pheasant Tea Cosy Design Sketch blog page.
If you would like to appear in Simply Knitting magazine you can send them a photograph of your knitting along with a short note about what you made and the yarn or pattern you used. Their email address is simplyknitting@ourmedia.co.uk. It is a lovely way to share your work and see it in print.
Thank you for watching the April TeaCosyFolk knitting vlog and for joining me for another cosy catch up.
