Skeleton Chocolate Orange Cosy

Description

The Skeleton Chocolate Orange Cosy is a cheerful little character for the spooky season, designed to bring a playful Halloween twist to your knitting. His main cosy wraps neatly around a Chocolate Orange, and then his arms, legs and head are added separately, giving him a wonderfully dangly, animated feel. His limbs swing freely, his head wobbles gently, and if you sit him on a shelf his legs hang down like a classic shelf‑sitter.

He’s knitted in black and white DK yarn, and although he looks detailed, he’s surprisingly simple to make. The rib cage is created with easy knitted stripes, not intarsia or colour work, so the bones appear naturally as you work the rows. His face is stitched on afterwards, giving him a friendly grin rather than a spooky one.

If you want to pose him, you can slip pipe cleaners inside his arms to bend them into shapes, wave them about, or make him hold onto things. Without them, he stays soft and floppy, which suits his character just as well.

Inspired by the fun of October and all things Halloween, this cosy makes a charming seasonal gift or a light‑hearted decoration for your kitchen shelf. He’s full of personality, easy to knit, and guaranteed to raise a smile.

No bones about it; he’s got a bone to pick with October.
