Animated Tea Cosy

Description

Gardening, growing your own and greenhouses have become hugely popular over the last couple of years as we’ve all been enjoying our gardens more, and this is what inspired me to design a greenhouse tea cosy. The cosy is based on a traditional greenhouse, with white structural lines and silver ‘glass’ panels.

As a gardener myself, I know the delight of growing something from seed under glass and nurturing it to become the biggest, tallest and tastiest crop. I wanted the cosy to capture that feeling, so I added a single oversized tomato growing out of the ventilation window.

My own greenhouse is always a bit untidy because it’s the working part of the garden. There are usually weeds outside, a watering can ready for feeding tomatoes, and pots everywhere with plants hardening off or simply because I’ve grown too many. I’ve included these familiar details in the design, along with a bright sunflower in full bloom around the back.

To add a touch of wildlife, I made a little hedgehog. He’s hiding around the side of the greenhouse, looking for tasty slugs.

It’s a cheerful tea cosy for summer teatimes in the garden, perfect for gardeners who love to potter in the greenhouse and enjoy growing their own.

Go green with a fabulous greenhouse tea cosy. A proper green‑fingers delight.
