I was taken aback when I heard the news of Dolly Parton’s death. She was one of those figures who felt ever‑present, and it was out of admiration that I wanted to create a knitted tea cosy of her. It felt right to make something gentle and handmade, an effigy to celebrate her, her work and her beautiful personality.

I designed her with lemon loopy curls to echo her glamorous hair, full of bounce and warmth. Her cowboy hat ties her back to her Tennessee roots and the farming background she often spoke about. She holds a microphone because singing and storytelling were at the heart of everything she did.

Her dress is big, bright and pink because Dolly always embraced glamour. She loved sparkle and drama, and her outfits were part of her charm. The ruffled sleeves reflect her over‑the‑top stage costumes, full of movement and fun. Her silhouette includes the fuller bust she was known for, simply as part of her iconic shape.

This cosy is a small tribute in wool. A way to keep her spirit alive on a teapot, and a gentle reminder of the joy, generosity and sparkle she shared with the world.

Back through the years with Dolly, forever singing from the teapot.
