Description

The Morning Bloom tea cosy and cafetiere cosy were designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 267 which went on sale on the 6th August 2025.

Inspired by childhood lawns dotted with daisies and the joy of stringing them into chains, the Daisy Chain Tea Cosy and Cafetiere Cosy set brings a summery splash of nostalgia to your tea and coffee breaks. Whether you're brewing a pot for one or hosting a garden gathering, this matching pair adds a cheerful, handmade touch to your table.

Knitted in just three colours; Cloud Blue, Lemon, and White, these cosies celebrate the unfussy charm of daisies. The main body is worked in a striped String of Purls pattern, giving a soft, rippling texture without the need for charts or colour work.

Short rows are used to create the lemon centres of each daisy, and if you're new to short rows, don’t worry; it's just when you turn the work, mid row and work back a way. In this case the short rows make the lemon centres for the daisies.

Each daisy petal is knitted separately and sewn around the lemon spots, creating a beautifully raised, three-dimensional effect. The result is a cosy that’s not only practical but full of character; like a daisy chain wrapped around your favourite brew. The cafetiere cosy mirrors the design, making the set feel cohesive and delightfully coordinated.

Whether you’re a tea devotee or a coffee connoisseur, this set is a joyful way to celebrate summer in stitches. It’s a quick, satisfying knit with a big visual payoff; ideal for gifting, displaying, or simply brightening your own kitchen. So go on, knit yourself a bouquet and let your brews bloom.

If you are ordering the ready knitted cosies, you will receive both the tea cosy and the cafetiere cosy.

You can find the knitting pattern for the Daisy Chain Tea Cosy and Cafetiere Cosy in Simply Knitting Magazine issue 267. The pattern will be available to buy direct from TeaCosyFolk on 6th March 2026.
