Venus Flytrap Tea Cosy

Description

The Venus Flytrap Tea Cosy is inspired by the famous carnivorous plant and it’s every bit as weird, wonderful and mischievous as the real thing. This is a tea cosy with attitude. It’s dramatic, characterful, and guaranteed to steal the spotlight at teatime.

The cosy begins with a knitted plant‑pot base, giving the impression that your teapot is sprouting something wild. Above that, the main cosy is worked in khaki green, creating a lush backdrop for the flytrap stems. Six bold stems rise from the centre and curl down the sides of the teapot, each ending in a vivid red trap lying in wait.

Some traps are snapped shut, teeth interlocked after catching unsuspecting flies. Others are wide open, ready for their next victim. Two knitted flies perch on the plant, drawn in by the irresistible aroma; one of them dangerously close to becoming lunch.

It’s a playful, theatrical tea cosy with all the drama of a real Venus Flytrap. Perfect for anyone who loves quirky knitting, statement pieces, and cosies that make people laugh. This is not the floral cosy your granny used to have; it’s a conversation starter, a showstopper, and a joy to knit.

Where Tea Time Meets Fly Time.
