Animated Tea Cosy

On Christmas eve just imagine what Santa's sleigh must look like. That was my inspiration for the Santas Sleigh tea cosy knitting pattern, and I imagined a huge sack full of brightly wrapped presents on a beautiful golden sleigh.

The main part of the tea cosy is knitted up to be the bottom part of the sleigh and Santa's sack. And then the back and front of the sleigh are knitted separately and attached.

The Christmas presents are knitted up and arranged around the tea cosy, and there's even a teddy popping out the top of the sack.

It's an exciting tea cosy to make and looks spectacular.

The front and back sleigh parts are stiffened with Funky Foam, if you Google 'Funky Foam sheets' you will find it. It's thick plastic foam so its durable and waterproof.

Santa has filled the sleigh ready and he's just got time for one last cuppa before he sets off.

This Tea Cosy:

  • is made from double thickness yarn for extra insulation
  • fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints
