Description

What an honour it has been to design a King Charles III tea cosy. The coronation will be such a historic day and I shall probably never have the opportunity to design another coronation tea cosy for another monarch.

The King will be coronated on May the 6th at Westminster Abbey, and he will be seated in the Coronation Chair. The Coronation Chair, or King Edward's Chair as it is also know, dates back to the 1300's and was made for King Edward I, hence the name. This special chair is where much of the ceremony will take place; I wanted to include it in my design. This tea cosy has King Charles III sitting in King Edward's Chair.

King Edward's Chair houses the Stone of Destiny, a stone that was originally from Scone. In the bottom of the chair there are grey holes that represent the home through which you can see the stone of Scone.

I have dressed the King in the uniform of the Admiral of the Fleet, with all the decoration that entails along with medals and ribbons. On his head he is wearing the crown.

It's been such and amazing and detail tea cosy to design. There are 10 pages to the knitting pattern and there is a helpful video on Youtube to compliment the pattern.

It's the perfect tea cosy to use to celebrate the big day and it will surely be a tea cosy to keep and treasure.
