Druid Tea Cosy and Knitting Pattern

Inspired by the summer solstice, I created a Druid Tea Cosy fit to preside over the longest day of the year.

Dressed in a flowing cream robe, this mystical figure is adorned with Druidic symbols, embodying wisdom, tradition, and connection to nature. His long beard and hair; essential for any druid, give him a timeless presence. Around his neck, he wears a mystical druid egg (ovum anguinum), believed to bring good fortune and victory. In one hand, he holds a golden sickle, freshly cutting a bundle of mistletoe, ready for Druidic rites once teatime is over. Resting upon his head is an oak leaf crown, a powerful emblem of wisdom, strength, and the sacred groves where druids once gathered.

Druids have been part of Britain’s rich history since medieval times, woven into the tapestry of the nation’s past. Nowadays, we mostly hear of them during solstice celebrations, when they gather at Stonehenge to mark the changing seasons.
