Animated Tea Cosy

The Diwali tea cosy is a colourful tea cosy to celebrate the festival of light. The patterns around the tea cosy were inspired by henna patterns that I had seen, then adapted and worked in bright colours. Set against the black background the colours look even brighter.

On the centre top of the tea cosy is a diyas with a battery operated tealight candle inside. It's a little not-towards tradition and looks really sweet as the centrepiece of the cosy, and it's able to shine its light all around from the the top.

The tea cosy is knitted on 4mm needles and worked flat. It is full lined with a knitted liner to keep the teapot nicely insulated.

The lower patter is worked in Fair Isle and the upper pattern is intarsia. Both patterns are worked from a knitting chart.

It's a lovely tea cosy that is colourful and beautiful, and it's perfect for celebrating Diwali and the festival of light.

Delightful Diwali tea cosy to brighten up the darkest teatimes.

This Tea Cosy:

  • has a knitted lining to keep the teapot really hot
