Description

I have been inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland to create some Alice in Wonderland Terry's chocolate orange covers. There are so many exciting characters in the story to knit that I found it difficult to choose. But I narrowed it down to just 4 designs for Part 1 of this range of cosies.

Well of course you'd have to have Alice herself, it would just seem curious without her. I love that Lewis Carrol played with size, so I have made Alice look oversized, with a big body and long legs. When she grows too big in the house she finds a cake to eat which shrinks her down again, so I have given her a little cake should she wish to change size.

I suppose a lesser thought of character from the story is the Dodo who organises a fair and never-ending race. I read somewhere that the Dodo represents Lewis Carrol himself, so I thought it would be great to have him.

I think the impossible blue caterpillar is my favourite of all the characters. He's just chilling on his mushroom. He's a fun character to knit, and children love caterpillars don't they?

And finally the White Rabbit. A firm favourite with everyone. Who wouldn't love to see a white rabbit dressing in a waistcoat and spectacles looking at his pocket watch?

Each chocolate orange cosy is quite detailed, so this is a 11 page knitting pattern. It's a written pattern but there are help videos for some of the trickier parts.

The group look lovely together. Bright and colourful, and they remind you of different parts of the story.

The cosies fit a Terry's Chocolate Orange. The cosies are not a toy.
